Tiburon Golf Course

Tiburon golf course is situated between Ft Myers and Naples in the Southwest countryside of Florida. This 18-hole golf course is designed by a well renowned designer Greg Norman. Distinct by the use of coquina sand, stacked sod wall bunkers and without roughs, this golf course provides golfers with all talents, a peaceful setting and a memorable experience. This golf course is scattered over 800 acres of land and is one of the favorite golf courses both for professional and amateur golfers.

The designer Norman mended an extra-ordinary blend of modern and traditional elements at the Tiburon Golf Course in order to create a course of beauty and elegance. The meticulously maintained turf and the absence of rough right through the course presents the golfer’s with a wide variety of challenging shots. Tiburon, licensed as the Audubon Co-operative Sanctuary reveals a strong dedication to protect and enhance the natural resources of the wildlife areas through research, stewardships and education.

Merrill Lynch Shootout is an annual golf tour hosted by Greg Norman and played at the Tiburon Golf Course. On its 19th anniversary this championship was held from the 5th to 9th of December 2007. Jerry Kelly and Rod Pampling defeated Scott Verplank and Justin Leonard on sudden death play-off hole to win the title in 2006. For the 2007 championship there are12 teams that consist of PGA players selected on few aspects like ten players from the career money list, three players from the current money list, nine players as special exceptions and the defending champions.
