Tiburon golf course is situated between Ft Myers and Naples in the Southwest countryside of Florida. This 18-hole golf course is designed by a well renowned designer Greg Norman. Distinct by the use of coquina sand, stacked sod wall bunkers and without roughs, this golf course provides golfers with all talents, a peaceful setting and a memorable experience. This golf course is scattered over 800 acres of land and is one of the favorite golf courses both for professional and amateur golfers.
The designer Norman mended an extra-ordinary blend of modern and traditional elements at the Tiburon Golf Course in order to create a course of beauty and elegance. The meticulously maintained turf and the absence of rough right through the course presents the golfer’s with a wide variety of challenging shots. Tiburon, licensed as the Audubon Co-operative Sanctuary reveals a strong dedication to protect and enhance the natural resources of the wildlife areas through research, stewardships and education.
Merrill Lynch Shootout is an annual golf tour hosted by Greg Norman and played at the Tiburon Golf Course. On its 19th anniversary this championship was held from the 5th to 9th of December 2007. Jerry Kelly and Rod Pampling defeated Scott Verplank and Justin Leonard on sudden death play-off hole to win the title in 2006. For the 2007 championship there are12 teams that consist of PGA players selected on few aspects like ten players from the career money list, three players from the current money list, nine players as special exceptions and the defending champions.
When a beginner wants to select golf driver’s there are certain aspects which he has to consider, such as the new club head design – moveable weights and multi-material heads. Less alluring aspects like the shaft flex, right loft and the grip are even more important in matching the driver to the standard of the game, making it possible to achieve extra yard off the tee. One of the best recommendations when selecting a perfect golf driver would be to try a variety of styles and see whether that works well in accordance with your preference. The significance of the shaft on the golf driver is often under-estimated; however it can have a huge effect on the game. The basic selection is between the graphite shaft and the steel shaft. However, titanium shafts are also available although they are not as popular as steel and graphite shafts. Graphite and steel shafts have specific advantages and characteristics. Steel’s molecular structure is uniform all through the shaft and they are relatively heavier and cheaper as compared to the graphite shafts. Graphite shafts are less reliable than the steel shafts due to its difficult manufacturing method. Graphite shafts are significantly lighter than the steel shafts as they weigh about 55 to 60 grams while the steel shafts weigh around 125 to 128 grams. Graphite is well-liked for its vibration dampening. Although a few recent developments in steel shafts like the true temper’s sensicore, ping’s cushion and sim’s shock relief have reduced the gap between graphite and steel. However, the lighter weight of the graphite shafts provides swing speed which is meant to be for more power. Most of the professional golfers still prefer steel shafts while graphite shafts are generally popular among the women, senior players and the beginners. Graphite shafts are gaining more popularity at present because of its light weight and it can also be used for long distance shots. It is even more flexible and can be very easy for the golfer to control his shot.

Phil Mickelson, a well known professional golfer is a person who is a favorite of several golf enthusiasts. In several years of his golf career, Phil Mickelson has accomplished 31 PGA tour victories and has reached a career high of 2nd place in the world of golf rankings. Phil was born on 16th of June 1970 in San Diego, California. From the younger age itself he was very devoted towards the game of golf. Once he had tried to run away from his house because his parents did not allow him to join his father on the course of the golf game. At the age of four Phil played his first round of golf and as he approached the 18th hole he began to cry knowing the game would soon be over.
Phil Mickelson graduated from the University of San Diego School; with the scholarship of golf Michelson went to attend the Arizona State. Playing at Arizona State, Mickelson became a familiar amateur golfer by wining three NCAA championships and even the US Amateur title. He was the first left hand golfer to achieve this feat. He also went on to win the first PGA tournament in the year 1991 when he was still an amateur. In the year 2004, Mickelson finally won his first major championships at the Masters. Mickelson again won the Masters cup for the second time in the year 2006. All through his memorable career of victories, Mickelson did his best to uphold the rich customs of the game of golf.

Calcavecchia and Austin had shot a stunning 12 under par 60 on Saturday leaving them with a two stroke lead over Norman and Watson.
The tournament, which took place at the Tiburon Golf Course designed by Norman, was played as a modified alternate shot format for the first round, a better ball format for the second round, and a scramble format in the final round, Calcavecchia and Austin shot a 9 under par 63 to give them a total 29 under par at 187 for the tournament. They have each won once on the U.S. tour during 2007.

This is Mark Calcavecchia’s second win at the Merrill Lynch Shootout, his first being with Steve Elkington in 1995. Last month TaylorMade released its new r7 CGB Max driver and is available through TaylorMade’s SelectFit custom fitting system of interchangeable heads and shafts allowing for numerous combinations. It features the Movable Weight Technology (MWT) that promotes changes in trajectory of up to 35 yards. The r7 CGB comes with three weight ports whereas previous models offered two to four ports. The club is 460cc and has a high moment of inertia with Inverted Cone Technology, which means more forgiveness on those off center shots. The r7 CGB Max driver combines the best of TaylorMade’s metalwood technology to offer ease, adjustability, and maximum distance. Left handed men’s available in 9.5 and 10.5 degree lofts only.
The TaylorMade r7 CGB Max driver is available in men’s and women’s with an MSRP of $499.99
Club: The r7 CGB Max is available in 9.5, 10.5, and 12 degree lofts. The triangular shape of the club head shifts the club’s center of gravity further back which results in better stability.
Shaft: The r7 CGB Max comes standard with a 45 inch, 45 gram Mitsubishi Reax graphite shaft.
Weights: The r7 CGB Max comes with one 16 gram and two one gram weights. Placing the 16 gram weight in the center produces a mild draw while placing it in the toe produces a slight fade and in the heel producing an extreme draw.
Born on the 22nd of February 1963 in Lautoka, Fiji, Vijay Singh is a legendary golfer who has won 3 major championships and several honors and awards as a golfer. Born and brought up in Fiji, Vijay Singh was inspired by his father who was an airplane technician. Having keen interest in the game of golf Vijay started taking lessons from a golf teacher. In the year 1982 he turned to become a professional golfer and two years later won his first title at the Malaysian Open in the year 1984. Next year he was alleged to have cheated during the Asian tour and immediately was suspended from the tour. In the year 1988, Vijay joined the European PGA Tour and kept on playing for over five years. In the year 1993 after joining the US PGA tour he was honored with the Rookie of the Year award.
Seven years later, in 2000 Vijay added another title to his name by winning the Masters title. Since 2003, Vijay’s career taking off and continued till the entire season of 2004. In the year 2004, Vijay was among the Top 12 in the world for the 10th time in a row. Until then he had won 9 PGA titles which made him the only player to do so. He eventually became the first golfer to have earned $10 million in only a single season. In the same year 2004, Vijay was ranked as the worlds No-1 golfer. Ultimately, he lost the position the next year however he still continued his run. In 2006 he once again won the 1st position and in the year 2007, he started with a victory at the Mercedes Benz Championship.
Eldrick Woods or Tiger Woods like most of them call him was born on 30th December 1975 in Cypress, California. Eldrick was the only child of Earl and Kultida Woods. The late Earl Woods was of an Afro American descent while Kultida Woods was a Thai/Chinese descent. This wide mixture of national heritage made Tiger Woods an encouragement to fans of all the races around the whole world. As a child Tiger began playing golf at the age of two and in fact featured as a toddler in magazines and even appeared on television. At the young age of 8, Tiger won his first event at the Junior World Golf championships. And at the age of 15 he became the youngest US Junior Amateur Champion.
In the year 1996, Tiger was recognized as a professional golfer. He then signed a deal with Nike for a $ 40 million and with Titleist for $ 20 Million. Tiger won his first major golf event in the year 1997, by doing so he became the youngest Masters winner ever. In the same year he went on to win three more events at the PGA tour. The year 1997 turned out to be the remarkable year for Tiger Woods as he became the world’s number one in the Official World Golf rankings. So far, Tiger Woods has won three titles at the Masters, two at the UA Open and three at the PGA championships. He has also been awarded with awards such as the Athlete of the Year, Rookie of the Year and the PGA Player of the Year.
Titleist recently released its new 906 F4 fairway wood family, that is available in 13.5, 15.5, and 18.5 lofts. I’ve wanted to give this club a try since I read about it, but only recently did the pro shop get a demo in. Barely teed it up and still this club send the ball soaring high into the sky every time. I was using the 15.5 degree loft. Hitting it off the deck had the same high flying results minus the occasional shanks of course. Taking it out on the front nine proved to make me want to reach for my wallet as every ball (Pro V1s) went high and straight right where I wanted it to, a bit uncanny.
The club is designed with a lower center of gravity that is responsible for the high launch, but it also helps to add more spin. Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Titleist, Steve Pelisek, claims that “The new 906 F4 is the most playable Titleist fairway club yet.” I loved my 975J driver for a long time and as far as Titleist clubs go, this club is quite superior to its predecessors and would be a crucial addition to any golfers bag.
TaylorMade has got out its new offering for the golfers in the form of its TP Red Ball with some innovative features. Superior durability and very durable are the descriptions used for this new ball on the site of TM. The ball is now open for tests for golfers for its quality of spin, and the flight it offers to the players. Manipulation of the shot and better control over the spin of the ball are the advantages players have found with this new golf ball. The TP Red golf ball is quite responsive with the wedges and short games, which is why players find it suitable on the course. The ball, with its improvements will fly and stop where the players want it to and thus, give them ultimate control over the game. The ball is great for touch shots and great shots are guaranteed with the TP Red golf ball.
The TP Red golf ball by TaylorMade is multi-layered and has a big core, which is why the ball delivers the results players have found with it. The core of the ball is made with a material called neodymium, which is a rubber compound. Many would be amazed to see neodymium in golf ball because it is used mainly in the audio industry but the results it delivers are high COR, great ball speed, low in its compression, and low in the driver spin. The ball cover is of urethane, which is termed ultra thin, and yet it is durable. The 322 dimples on the ball make it useful mainly on the ball flight’s back half propelling the ball for more distance.
