The Byron Nelson Championship started in 1944 as The Texas Victory Open, it was not until 1968 that it took on the name of its first winner and became the Byron Nelson Golf Classic. Tom Watson has won the tournament the most with 4 victories that include a three year streak between 1978 to 1980.
Adam Scott turned pro in 2000 at age 20 and has since then had a distinguished career, including winning The Singapore Open from 2005-2006 and a playoff defeat of Chad Campbell in the 2005 Nissan Open at The Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, CA. Scott is currently a professional at The Palms Golf Course Sanctuary Cove in Queensland, Australia.
