Eldrick Woods or Tiger Woods like most of them call him was born on 30th December 1975 in Cypress, California. Eldrick was the only child of Earl and Kultida Woods. The late Earl Woods was of an Afro American descent while Kultida Woods was a Thai/Chinese descent. This wide mixture of national heritage made Tiger Woods an encouragement to fans of all the races around the whole world. As a child Tiger began playing golf at the age of two and in fact featured as a toddler in magazines and even appeared on television. At the young age of 8, Tiger won his first event at the Junior World Golf championships. And at the age of 15 he became the youngest US Junior Amateur Champion.

In the year 1996, Tiger was recognized as a professional golfer. He then signed a deal with Nike for a $ 40 million and with Titleist for $ 20 Million. Tiger won his first major golf event in the year 1997, by doing so he became the youngest Masters winner ever. In the same year he went on to win three more events at the PGA tour. The year 1997 turned out to be the remarkable year for Tiger Woods as he became the world’s number one in the Official World Golf rankings. So far, Tiger Woods has won three titles at the Masters, two at the UA Open and three at the PGA championships. He has also been awarded with awards such as the Athlete of the Year, Rookie of the Year and the PGA Player of the Year.
